All,
i thought i bought the correct line for my 1973 914 1.7. its the rear hard brake line on the passenger side. i took a pic for reference. in any event, i got the wrong one as the one i bought is too short. can anyone supply a part number or a link for the longer brake line? thanks! Steve  |

Do you have PET? It is a free download from the Porsche web site. Also on Jeff Bowlsbys site.

Link to the PET (you can also get here through Jeff's website, as noted above) to get the part #. The diagram of the brake lines is on page #170. I think you want 30/1 in the diagram? I'll let you figure that out. Go to page 299 for an explanation of the codes in the "remarks" column. I can't tell from your picture whether the line you got really is too short, or just needs some "customization" (ie: bending) to fit. I'm going to assume you physically measured the length of both lines and are not just relying on eyeballing them. Good luck.

Looks like you got the line for the wrong year car. as i recall the early and late cars hookup to the brake valve at a different point. The lenght difference is on that end.
