A few folks showed interest in these and I have a little time to turn some out. I made two versions, a flat “silhouette” to hang on the wall, or a silhouette with a stand incorporated for shelf or desk.
The flat will be $55 shipped and the stand style will be $55 +shipping (tbd based on your location). I’ll be making them by order so it will take a day or two to get them out. They are 12 ga steel and very sturdy. I can make them in 18 ga also but they don’t feel as substantial. If anyone wants 18 ga instead, let me know. They are approx 16” long. |

Maybe…..I appreciate any feedback, I’m new at the plasma game. Here’s a break down of the costs of making/shipping:
Material - $10 Shipping - $16 So that leaves $29 to cover the time and effort. The process takes a little time, from cutting to soaking in acid bath to remove mill scale, to grinding, to packing and running to the post office. In the end I’m not making much and thought I scrubbed it down as low as I could without losing money. I bought a similar plasma cut 914 prior to buying my plasma table and it cost me $75 and did not include shipping. If cost is the factor, I’m not sure I can make them any cheaper. |

I received mine today. I gotta say the quality is great. I already have an idea of where mine is going and I am atually going to order another one soon so I can paint each one to match the colors of each of my 914's. In my opinion they are worth every penny I spent.

So I am very familiar with plasma, laser, water jet. If I were you these would be my suggestions. Spec P&O steel to be cut then no grinding or acid required, or send the file to oshcut, sendcutsend, or the equivalent. Check with your local laser shop. I get parts lasered on the regular and know many times it’s cheaper to have them buy the material and cut then you actually buying it and cut it yourself |

Thinking about making a weather vane with one of these. Hmmm Can you do 12 gauge stainless? I haven’t tried stainless yet. I know it doesn’t cut as cleanly. I have a weather vane in plain steel that I primed and painted and it’s been holding up great (and I live on the water (salt)) just for reference. |
