I was looking at my new leather interior pieces a while ago, and it hit me that the faded needles, dust and condensation marks on the inside of the gauges are really going to look crappy. Also the bezels were scratched and rusty as well.
Here's a before of my speedo, probably the least faded of them all. The bezels and glass come off by gently prying the folded edge open with a small scewdriver. I used Tamiya Colour PS24 Flourescent Orange, the paint they used for RC car bodies. It has a nice matte finish. Use a good streak-free glass cleaner, and watch for fingerprints on the black gauge faces - they're a bitch to get off evenly. The Bezels come apart on the dash gauges - one piece under the glass, and two (or three) pieces above. I used a satin black for those - and the dash panel too. Put it all back together and gently bend the bezel back around the gauge body. |

Nice job, and well described with the pictures. I vote to move this thread to the classics.
