I just received my 'new' exterior door handle from Root Werks (Thanks again Dan!) and obviously have to take the door panel off to R & R the handle.
I have taken off many a door panel in the past, just never a 914 panel.... So is it straight off with 'buttons' or up and off with 'clips'? Thanks fellow teeners... |

Remove the interior door handles and window crank....pop all the push in pins along the bottom and sides of the panel, trying to remember, if there are allen headed screws holdng the armrest onto the door....then lift straight up.
The pins holding the edges of the panel usually break due to age, so I hope you have a few replacements. |

interior handles/pockets off. go around the panel with a putty knife to ease the push in clipsoff . lift up and it'll come off. liberally douse interior allen head screw that retains outer handle. BE VERY CAREFULL with the small nut on the mounting tab. remember to intstall the vapor barrior. look for "vapor barriors for dummies" thread in the classic thread forum.
