I just bought a '75 2.0. The manual says it has 84hp and 97 lb.ft of torque. I have read different sites and here claiming it has 100hp. What is it and what would the difference be?

How to get 100hp out of your stock late 2.0?
Switch over to early 2.0 style heat-exchangers (preferably SSI) + a bursch muffler. Remove your emissions control equipment. That means smog pump, air injectors on the heads (plug them), EGR stuff, all that. Oh, don't forget to put in some euro pistons. (higher compression). That's pretty much it before you start messing with the AFR and timing... |
