My son and I were running an errand. The rain clouds looked at least an hour away so I took the teener. Well, I'm no meteorologist. Five minutes in and the rain starts. Within a minute it's coming down hard, real hard.
A couple of things I noted driving with the top off and the windows down in the rain: 1) your interior will get wet, especially near the backpad; 2) the faster you drive, the drier you'll be; 3) damn it's fun! I think at faster speeds with the windows up, you could stay quite comfortable. Anyways, after a few minutes I pulled into a parking lot under a tree and put the top on. The 6 year old thought the whole thing was pretty funny. |

About 10 years ago I had just finished restoring my 73 2.0. I had just gotten it back from the paint shop & she was pretty. My family was at the coast & I had to meet them. I decided to take my car as I haden't driven it much yet. Only a 45 minute trip to the coast typically. So I get there without a problem. I had been there about 2 hours. I'm just having dinner & watching the ocean. I see something funny. Holy Crap it is snowing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) . After a half hour there is a good 6" on the beach. I've never seen snow on the coast. About time for me to leave & get back to work. Then it hits me I'm in my teener. Turns out my 45 minute drive home took 3 hours. Hardly got out of 1st gear as people were driving like $hit. I'm stressed as hell as I am sure someone is going to hit me. Defrost works like crap. I spent the drive half leaning over to look out the little half moon of clear window above the defrost vent. I was tense the whole time. I made it home without a problem. I was litteraly exhausted though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)
