Robin and I are going to LV next week for the Barret-Jackson auction. They are selling a '76 914. The car is scheduled for Friday morning, about 10:00 am, what do you think it's worth and what do you think it's auction price will be? We'll take pictures before the bidding and post here.
Here's the listing: LotNumber 412.1 Hammer Price Not Sold Year 1976 CarMake PORSCHE CarModel 914 CarStyle TARGA COUPE ExteriorColor BLACK Interiorcolor BLACK Cylinders 4 Engine 2.0 LITER Transmission 5-SPEED MANUAL Summary A factory black car with mint original black interior, perfect body and pristine floors. [...] A perfect example of a last-year 914 Porsche tell me if I'm wrong, but: non original steering wheel non original center console non original radio non original shift knob non original carpets original door panels destroyed for ugly speakers (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) Gustl Steering wheel - non-orig, but nice if the orig wheel comes with it. Center console - looks right, except for the guage facing area. Radio - yup, non-orig Shift knob - looks OK to me Carpets - can't tell from the pic, but they look kinda light Door panels - this will probably hurt the most. Destroyed! Still, it's a very nice 914 & I'm betting on 15.5 - 17.0. REDO! After seeing the subsequent pics, including poor panel fit & a non-detailed engine, and crap carpet, and on & on - this is a 10K 914 at BEST. Not that I would touch it for half that price. It's more than normal, but I'll guess $12,700. The 914 stereotype still remains and this may hinder a higher price. I would have guessed all the above as well, except the carpet (I didn't notice). Please correct me if I am wrong here, but didn't all front bumpers '73+ have nipples and '74+ have them as well? Plus, the hood crest & the rear PORSCHE reflector were from 911's as well. The previous owner (IMO) seems to have been a bit vain/superficial with the add-ons. Hm... |
