What is the normal oil pressure reading for:
Warm engine at normal speeds? Warm engine at idle? Does Temp gauge indicate oil temp or cylinder head temp, and what is the normal operating temp in F or C? What is the preferred 914 repair manual? |

Rule of thumb for most cars:
You want at least 10 PSI per 1000 RPM with the engine warm. Up until the pressure relief valve opens, at least. The exact pressure depends on a lot of factors, from oil temp to oil pump condition to bearing clearances to oil viscosity... --DD |
