So I've got this strange almost grinding feel in the wheel while I'm driving down the road. I've changed the front wheel bearings with no improvement. I've also set the bearing end play by the factory manual and with different end plays as measured with an indicator.
I noticed some discoloration on the spindles while doing the bearing change. These are early 70's T/E struts. I'm concerned that the bearings are occasionally spinning on the spindles because they are undersize. Unfortunately the factoory manual does not seem to have a spec for the spindle diameter. Has anyone ever measured it? If you have had a similar problem, what did the fix end up being. Thanks for the help Kelly |
