Weber IDF Rebuild, Replacing the spindle bearings Options

I have not been able to find any information in any Weber IDF rebuild article that goes into this area.......Has anyone done this that could help me out with a little information or maybe a link to a rebuild article that covers this with some detail? When I removed the spindle and the bearings I noticed a difference in the parts between the two carbs, namely the flat brass pieces that go on either side of the bearings......Thanks in advance for any help.....Jerry

I've destroyed a few myself over the years, it was always hit or miss. The dismantling was hard, reassembly a lot more difficult and critical. Last two times I sent Dellortos with frozen shafts to Art Thraen in Utah. Beautiful work, about $70-75 each if I remember right, and I think they came back actually better than new. Aircooled Engineering Recommended.

For a good book try the CB Performance Weber book (http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=4) which has exploded diagrams and most any other info you'd want. At $12.95 it's a steal. Or their parts at http://www.cbperformance.com/category.asp?categoryid=6 I think Redline has diagrams online too (http://www.redlineweber.com/html/Tech/Table_of_contents.htm), as does Pierce Manifolds (http://www.piercemanifolds.com/) Love those Pierce guys, they're really great.
