I thought this was going to be a rant, but reconsidered. I like to look at others projects - time to return the favor. Anyhow, I'm putting together a 3.2 with 915 wevo. As a diy'er, I don't have fab capability, so I bought a shift linkage from a well known vendor. I think the product needs improvement. The kit includes front and rear bars, 2 u-joints, and a firewall bearing.
Above is a u-joint from the kit. It is like the joints used in the steering linkage. It is drilled and tapped for a cone screw on one end. Problem is, the screw only engages 1.5 threads before bottoming in the wevo input shaft. Below is a wevo joint I bought to replace it. Using a wevo joint, you'll get 4.5 threads engagement. |
