. I've noticed that 3 early-1973 MY 914-2.0 ("914S") vehicles have Build Dates on their Driver's Door Jamb VIN Label which are out of numerical order for their VINs - or visa versa - see here if interested in more details of that discussion: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...p;#entry1264353 Now I'm wondering if there were any other patterns &/or instances of the VINs being built out of order, or if this is just a one time quirk!!?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) .... So lets create a little unofficial Poll & Data Base on this thread to see if we can find anything about this Historical Quirk, since the "Members' VINs" section here at 914world doesn't list the Build / Manufacture Dates in it. Please Post your VIN(s) & Build Date(s) here in this Thread - either from your COA, VIN Sticker or other "official" source (not hearsay please) ......... I'll start with the 3 which we've uncovered so far: 4732901102 - Built 9/72 < dated after 2 following VINs below 4732901650 - Built 8/72 4632901954 - Built 8/72 OK you others out there, get yours in here from any & all model years - 4's & 6's and let's see what turns up !!!! ..... from my database: up to here are all 08/72 4732900910 08/72 4732901017 09/72 4732901102 09/72 < Ch.# 3539559 < Signal Orange 914S/2.0 above 4732901302 09/72 4732901400 09/72 4732901547 08/72 4732901632 08/72 4732901650 08/72 < Ch.# ? < Murray's/ME733 914S/2.0 4732901919 08/72 4732901954 08/72 < Ch.# 3649545 < My 914S/2.0 4732901965 09/72 4732902065 08/72 4732902087 09/72 from here are all 09/72 Thanx Dave & Mark, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Dave - I've highlighted in your list above, that you have one 02065 built in 8/72, & at least 2 other 01900 series VINs which were built in 8/72 (or at least tagged as such), & maybe 2 if 01965 is actually an 8/72?? ... so the VINs are obviously all over the place relative to build dates! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) ... Do you happen to also have the chassis nos. for those above, to see if there is any further correlation on build dates vs Chassis nos. in Aug & Sept 72 - especially if some 9/72's are Aug Chassis Nos. in weeks #31-36 ??
