After replacing the Master Cylinder, and putting everything back together I just noticed that my brake lights are on all the time... when I put in the new M/C I noticed that the electrical sensor was different on the new one so I unscrewed the old one, pulled off the new one from the new M/C and screwed the old sensor onto the new M/c....sounds like it's grounded?

can I just un-plug this sensor? or will the brake lights then not work? or will I get a warning light on the dash...

help!

It is--this is exactly what happens. The arm for the brake light switch goes onto the other side of the metal disk on the brake pushrod. Check Haynes for photos, you can just see the position of the arm.
