Retro '75 build, just like you would have seen back in the day Options

So my latest build is a '75 Appearance Group car.
Car is currently in the body shop being stripped to bare metal.
Motor and tranny were just rebuilt...

going for a retro look.
Rivs, Porsche negative side stripe, Monza exhaust, Vittaloni mirrors and a few interior items to keep it '70s (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

got a load of stuff from MikeK (914magazine) today.
4 very nice Rivs
2.0L heat exchangers with associated heater stuff
Monza exhaust
2.0L muffler hanger
Koni front struts
spare trigger points
Custom pedal board
original grain vinyl for the sail panels and targa bar

here are some pics of the stuff.
first pic is one of the heater tubes media blasted
second pic is tube final product.
entire exhaust system will be done the same.
Pic of one of the Rivs I did a quick polish with power ball and aluminum polish..
black paint on the Rivs is perfect, just needs to be cleaned and waxed.

The point of this car is to build a daily driver that looks period correct, and to be a PAX weapon in the GGR AX series. Even with a very moderate suspension package I will be in AX 16 which will give me a very nice multiplication factor for TTOD. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

BTW - those Rivs are the re-pops, the originals on mine have a different rim without the lip & Riv logo center caps - they are brushed aluminum finish, not the polished like yours:



Hey - you other guys mentioning the 8-tracks (Rob Sime, RobW, etc.) - Plz post pix of them in the O&H one for original/period radios, as Jeff Bowlsby uses those in his 914 site for reference. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/type.gif)


This is the VW4412 that was in mine when I got it used 3 yrs. back in Dec 75 (Motorola made for VW of America's accessories VOA division) - the AM/FM dial hinges back to insert the 8-track, with original dash filler plate that came with it:



I still have the 8-track collection too, but have worried about what Ken Wales was saying about the oxide delam problem. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Hey Brent - I had the CB in mine too, but transferred it to our 88 Westy when we got that in 4/88 - still in there too - just in case! Saved our butts more than once with car problems on XC road trips before I had a cell!
