So my latest build is a '75 Appearance Group car.
Car is currently in the body shop being stripped to bare metal. Motor and tranny were just rebuilt... going for a retro look. Rivs, Porsche negative side stripe, Monza exhaust, Vittaloni mirrors and a few interior items to keep it '70s (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) got a load of stuff from MikeK (914magazine) today. 4 very nice Rivs 2.0L heat exchangers with associated heater stuff Monza exhaust 2.0L muffler hanger Koni front struts spare trigger points Custom pedal board original grain vinyl for the sail panels and targa bar here are some pics of the stuff. first pic is one of the heater tubes media blasted second pic is tube final product. entire exhaust system will be done the same. Pic of one of the Rivs I did a quick polish with power ball and aluminum polish.. black paint on the Rivs is perfect, just needs to be cleaned and waxed. here are a couple of pics of stuff that will be media blasted by myself tomorrow and then painted by me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) The point of this car is to build a daily driver that looks period correct, and to be a PAX weapon in the GGR AX series. Even with a very moderate suspension package I will be in AX 16 which will give me a very nice multiplication factor for TTOD. thanks guys
once it is all painted and the body panels are all reattached I need to see exactly what I will need to reassemble. Rubber seals etc... I think I am going to reposition the gauges that are in the center console into a small 3 hole panel under the edge of the dash.... remove the console and just have a lot of nice new clean carpet... I like the look of the interior without the console. New complete carpet kit, cap for the dash and it should be an acceptable interior for a daily driver. Seats are pretty decent, and I can upgrade those down the line. I bought a new CD/radio/mp3/IPod player from Circuit city last week on sale....$88 plus some nice little JBL speakers for $49 that will plug into the stock speaker grills. The CD player has a USB input for my ipod that will charge it and display the ipod information on the dash unit. It also has a built in blue tooth with an external mic. Should work nice. Just need to get down to Kragens and pick up the new chrome completely retractable antenna, sound system will be complete....I do have a small external amp that I can also use with it, if it needs a little help. Wheels should be done by Tuesday and I will get the new tires mounted at Wheel Techniques. Just need to get the billet center caps ordered from ISP for the wheels and they will be complete. |
