How is your pump mounted?. Here is mine, a Holley. It sounds like a coffee grinder, doesn't have the 3 second shutoff feature of the stock pump, and is louder than the engine itself @ idle.

I had the Carter elect pump mounted in the same place with rubber isolators and it was still real loud. I considered changing to the Facet pump that just clicks and shuts off when pressure is reached. That way at idle or at a stoplight the pump would be quiet and loud only when you are cruising or at WOT. I don't know if it flowed enough though.
I ended up changing the fuel system to the Holley Projection and I have not driven it yet, so I don't know how loud it is gonna be. I can't imagine it would be louder than what I had before. The good news is you will get used to it, but it is just a drag explaining to every new passenger what that loud noise is. George |
