Could it be? Some time ago there was a question about carb cleaners from someone who couldn't find Berrymans. I haven't tried this myself, but I'm impressed. These are photos from a thread on an adventure motorcycle site. Motorcycles spend their winters in the garage along with lawn equipment, so they have almost annual problems with gummed carburetors. After some years of crap on top of crap they add up to be pretty big problems. So some of those guys are soaking their carburetors in Pine Sol, either straight or dilluted 2-1 with water, and getting this:

What's especially impressive is that it's not supposed to damage rubber or plastic parts, which is astounding to me. Castoroil ? spellling on that one.. cuts grease well too. Have no clue how good it is for car applications though other than cleaning wheels.
