Hello,
I have a 1975 914 2.0, the car came with a rear sway bar unattached and missing the drop links and bushings on one side. I am trying to find out if this was a factory or aftermarket rear sway bar, I think it is aftermarket because of the U-Tabs attached at the base of the rear shocks. I have purchased the weld in attachment plate and the bushings and tabs for the attachment under the trunk. Can someone explain the procedure for welding in the plate, location etc.. I am also looking to purchase the hardware & bushings that attaches the bushings to the drop links, I have purchased the missing drop link which was a genuine Porsche Drop Link, it measures up exactly to the drop link on the sway bar. I've found that with a six (heavier) a full cage (i.e. very stiff car) and an LSD, a rear bar may be needed. But in almost all other conditions removing it is the key to good a handling 914.
