[size=3]Here are a few pics that I said I would share for thoughts & input on doing restoration to our 2 Porsche's 1970 Yello & 1976 Brown. Thanks for the support & help. We will start by sending to our mechanic the first week of March 2011...wifes first, hers is the 76'. Will update with pics and things done/completed along the way. Thanks,

Nice!.. Thanks...should we keep or redo in original colors or just go with what we want? Appreciate any input. I'll be Weenie #2 & say that IMHO you're pretty much always better off sticking with any classic car's original color - unless it's going to be modified anyway. So it depends on how original your 914s are & what you plan to do to & with them. Mine was originally L80E Light Ivory (white) from the factory - which is not my personal favorite 914 color, but it was repainted to gold by the time I bought it 3 years old in Dec. 75, then I did 2 further color changes in my DD days. So in researching for my current full resto, I looked at changing to a Marathon or Alaska Metallic Blue vs back to "white" & did an informal market survey on 914 resales. I found that original 914s which were restored or refurbished in a different color tended to sell for less than ones in the original color - some by as much as 40-50% lesser price/value for what seemed to be at least roughly comparable cars (I did say it was "informal"). Also this tracks with what I'd read in other classic car & sports car restoration publications. So I started a 12 step "recovery to white" program, and will be restoring mine back to the L80E it never was for me!
