[size=3]Here are a few pics that I said I would share for thoughts & input on doing restoration to our 2 Porsche's 1970 Yello & 1976 Brown. Thanks for the support & help. We will start by sending to our mechanic the first week of March 2011...wifes first, hers is the 76'. Will update with pics and things done/completed along the way. Thanks,

Restoration Design has all the body parts you need (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) They're also in the Member Vendors section on here & their banner ad pops up on the top & bottom of the pages on here in the rotation. Make sure to mention you're a member here when you order parts in case they offer a discount, but here's RD's 914 parts Link to make it easy: http://www.restoration-design.com/Merchant...tegory_Code=914 Members & advertisers on here & 914club.com, TheSamba.com (Porsche section of their classifieds), ClubNARP.com, etc. also sell NOS, used parts; & Performance Products/Automotion, Pelican, Sierra Madre Collection, TC'sGarage.com, AutoAtlanta, PMB, etc. (all have websites, some banner ads & member vendors here), & Porsche sell new and some repro parts (latter not at Porsche dealers, & PCA members get 20% off at dealers 2-3x a year). Also, look up Mikey914 (914Rubber in banner ads) as Mark is near you in Portland & has most of the rubber seals & many misc. parts you'll need, and you could probably coax him down your way with a 6er to look over both 914s & tell you what needs replacing. He repros most of the NLA rubber bits. As for brakes - don't D-around, just send them to Eric Shea at PMB for his rebuild/resto & some Porterfield R4S pads, and his PMB lists a lot of parts too (also member Vendor & banner ads here). Tangerine Racing has replacement stainless steel fuel lines for the tunnel, to replace the plastic ones - if you're going that far (also member vendor & banner ads). Geez - I could go on & on (and usually do.....ergo: "TMI...."), but just post up a source for what you need as you go along, and everybody will chime in with all sorts of options and advice! These folks on here are really great! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
