How do I remove the ingnition lock on a 70? do I need to remove the steering wheel?

I think at the base of the steering column. The turn signal stalk and the wiper stalk have plugs at the base that should pull out. If you can find a pix of the stalks in for sale info, you can see the plugs to get an idea.
