What would be the widest tire size that can be used on the 914 stock without flares or widden body?

depends on your intended usage... street? AX? track? Street. Only gets driven on nice sunny days. Which is fast approaching. Thanks The Kumho Ecsta is popular if you want something in (or close to) the original size. They were on my 914 when I bought it and I've been happy with them. Street driving, mostly in the dry, occasionally in the wet... only issue I've had is it seems you can roll onto the sidewall a bit in very sharp turns. Inexpensive too. If you want to get away from stock size (move up to 195s or 205s), there are a lot more options out there. Minor Hijack: I noticed that the spare in my car is a Tigar, stamped "Made in Yugoslavia" - looks like it's been used too. Anybody know what era that might date from? |
