I have a set of 22mm Sway Away hollow torsion bars I am installing.

When I take out the old TB's there is a layer of grease or some lubricant. What is this? Do the new ones need this?

The TB's are stamped R and L. Is this the drivers right? or standing in front of the car right?

lithium is soap based, anti seize has a copper base and won't wash out.
