Type 4 engine stand 101, building or buying a engine stand for my 914 1.7 Options

Well I have went around the net and e-mailed a few people and am still wondering what to do. I have heard to use a 68- 75 VW bus tranny bell housing and I have heard to use a t-4 bell housing and then I have heard to get one of the 2 arm adapters from e-bay I have also seen on e-bay one dude has a 4 arm adapter that slides in the yoke of a reguler engine stand. I am thinking thet these tranny bell housings are not really that plentiful and cutting one up to make a stand is not a good idea. can someone give me a good direction and safe for the moter. I want to be able to spin the moter and maybe be able to start it as well. but mostly to rebuild. I would rather have it on a good stand to rebuile then toss it on my bench. Hell when I go to start it i'll toss it on the floor and have my girlfried set on it. Hold on to it sweetheart it'll be alright, do u think it will screw her right into the gound? I'M KIDDING! thanks for your time all u in the club have really helped me as I try to get this 914 back on the road. man these cars are a lot different then my old chevy.

I ended up using one of these 4 bar yokes - good value!

Then I added one of these adapter rings so I could start the engine on the stand. The ring allows you to connect a stock starter to the engine while it is on the stand.

I ended up not using that setup, so if you are interested in the ring (cost $199 plus tax) I would be willing to sell it for $125 plus $15 shipping.
