I'm sure I'm opening the flood gates on this one but here goes...
I run 205/60/15s on 4 bolt Fuchs, I've always thought the 60 series looked a little more 'correct' for street use than the 50's so I've tried to stick with those...Well looks like that market is drying up a bit and it's been a long time since my last set of tires so I need to know what's good. I'm in sunny Southern California so I generally go for a high performance tire and am not so concerned with wet weather performance...I also have a second set of Fuchs for auto-x tires so I'm not looking to put DOT race tires on for street use--they generally suck for street driving too--So far it seems like these are probably my choices: Goodyear Eagle GT Falken Ziex ZE-512 Kumho Ecsta ASX Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grid Bridgestone Potenza RE960 AS Pole Position BFGoodrich g-Force Sport I'm sure there's others I haven't listed too, so let the opinions fly... I agree with the eagle GTs.
I ran them many years ago, and they stick like you wouldnt believe. The only downside is that the compound wears quickly, but in 914 years, you will probably wear out the car before you need to replace them. 195s look more stock, but 205s fit without rubbing. Stu |
