i'll be there. question is if i should drive the 914 or ride the motorcycle. how bad do you think traffic will be? will there be a car corral? The car corral is being handled by the PCA and the decision on where the Porsches will be parked will be decided this week. In regards to traffic, all 4 gates will be open. A lot of people don't like South Boundary road (parallels Hwy 68), but it's relatively flat so you avoid the hills off Hwy 68. Since the track sits on a county park it is governed by the county. They do not like Hwy 68 backed up since it's one lane in both directions as the local residents don't like bumper to bumper traffic (who does?). In a lot of cases traffic will be dictated by the CHP/ Sherriff's office forcing the track to move race traffic on S. Boundary road by closing the gate off A and/or B road (main gates). This is the case for most big races. Depending on where you're going or coming from many take Barloy Canyon road off Reservation road which takes you to Hwy 1 or Hwy 68. If that is the way you want to go I can get you exact directions. Harlen |

My plan now is to take public trans from Monterrey Transit out of Salinas or the Community College. Can you confirm they will be running both days. I do not want to park in the dirt. Do you know if MST will be running the special event bus? Thanks |

Do you know if MST will be running the special event bus? Thanks Yes, Porsche corral parking in the lakebed is completely sold out with 800 cars, the most ever. This will be the largest event of one make ever on the west coast. You can check with ticketing to see if any of the other parking is sold out such as Red 9, which is the paved area right above the start/finish line. In regards to the MST bus, yes they will be running Friday through Sunday, but I believe Friday will be a limited schedule. I will know for sure by next week. Picking it up at Monterey Peninsula College is a good spot (plenty of parking), but so is Embassy Suites hotel in Seaside. It's free with a ticket and it only takes about 20 minutes. They arrive and drop off every hour. Go to http://www.mst.org/maps-schedules/route-list/ and see lines 36-39. If you're a Porsche fan, this will be one of the best events ever. I should have more detailed information by next week. Harlen |
