Hello,
This is a thread about late hours in my garage trying to get 1970 914-6 back to life. There are already hundreds pics in here: http://www.harrasteet.1g.fi/kuvat/OmaPossu+II/ One question, what are these holes for? Spot welding? http://www.harrasteet.1g.fi/kuvat/OmaPossu...+1.5.11+009.JPG |

The transmission was updated to a side shift long ago! Changed or updated? I think it's possible to rebuild tail shift to side shift, am I right? When we talked about it I was sure it was changed due to the serial number on the trans! Here is one of the e-mail conversations 2011/1/26 Jeff Tuck <jeffs9146@yahoo.com> I do not know anything about the original transmission! It was swapped out before I got it and the person who sold it to me didn't know anything either! I would try to get a COA and see if the transmission number is listed! There was a guy keeping track of all 914-6's in the USA and I spoke with him once. He told me the car was sold in Palo Alto so you may be able to call the dealership and get some history?? (just a thought!) Don't forget to put fluid in the transmission before you install it! |

I'll ask another way, if I have tail sift gearbox can I change it to side shift without changing transmission case (shell)? I'll asked Finnish Porsche dealer to find out my transmission number but nothing come out. Have to ask direct from Zuffenhausen. |
