What's the easiest way to get the sound deadening tar off the floor boards? It's time for my car to go on a diet and this stuff needs to go.

When I did it I used a heat gun and a putty knife. Neat and tidy, no wire wheel wires sticking out of my clothes at the end of the day, no messy dust flung all over the place. Heat. Scrape. Dump into a bucket. Repeat.
