With a heavy heart I've come to terms with the fact that I need to move on. The Alien will likely hit ebay in the next 30 days. I'm putting her in the garage on 9-14 and completing some badly needed paint repairs and fixing a couple things The have worn out over time before I list her.
My question is value. I don't want to list the car for fun. I want to sell the car. I want her to say in the US. I know our economy is a little soft but this is a one of a kind car that has been driven all over the US. It is a proven platform. So, I know this forum is reserved for "Cars for Sale" I intend on selling her with your help and I will list a price here before it goes on ebay. But I'm torn. Your suggestions are welcome but please no wise cracks. My feeling are at risk here and I'm having a real issue with this decision. |

Thanks, I've owned the car since 1993. We still have Sandy's Ravenna car that will be a high quality driver and the Raspberry car that is one of three known. So I'm not out of cars. Just the emotional attachment to this car runs really deep. I'm actually feeling kind of sick. Never thought it would be hard to sell a car.

It's a case of not only a particular car, but your work, effort, ingenuity, etc. - not to mention memories. Do you want to be one of those a few years later wishing you hadn't sold that car? Of course this comes from a contrarian compared to most on here who hasn't sold a car since 1976, when I sold my 69 Pontiac Ventura 4dr to help buy my 73 914-2.0. So maybe I'm not the best opinion!? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) If you're not in dire need to sell now, IMHO you'll get a far better price if you can wait until the economy recovers + 1 year; & I agree with the auction route, although the Indy auctions may be a bit closer than AZ for you. Of course, if you must sell now, then best of luck. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |
