It's not the most powerful engine around, but it should have a nice sound and be an alternative to the expensive Porsche engine. Any thoughts?
Engine on eBay Crazy SVX drive-by It just looks like it's made for our cars... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/www.vanaru.com-14799-1347391927.1.jpg) |

When I did the EG33SVX conversion on my 914 I bought a running car that had been in a wreck.
I used everything off of the car I could. Engine, wiring harness, fuel pump(the stock subaru pump with mount fits inside a 914 Tank like its made for it.). I didnt try to sell anything esle off of the car. Just took it to the salvage yard and got $225 for it as scrap metal. This put me at $175 in my engine. After buying a Megasquirt and a set of outfront headers and the complete wrx transaxle. These were the big money expenses. This was about $1000 total. I removed the EG33 and installed a EZ30D just because I got a good deal on the engine. Im going to install the EG33 back into a LE CREAMSICLE and make a hot rod track car out of it. It will be intersting to see which one is the fastest. |

I have the 2.0 WRX turbo motor, which is lightweight and very strong, but am still intrigued by NA engines with similar horsepower. You had the EZ and EG motors in the same car, so how did they compare? Did you by any chance compare the weights of each motor? Did you do a build thread? |
