I just noticed that my engine number is missing a leading zero. From everything else I can tell from the databases it matches the chassis vin number for a '73 2.0 but it Is just one number short. Anyone else come across this?

There is no correlation VIN to engine nor transaxle case numbers, except what you can get from you car's COA (Certificate of Authenticity from PCNA), which is the only way to verify if you have a "matching numbers" car. |
