I'm gonna be passing by Napa valley on my vacation in a couple of weeks. We'll be coming south from Humboldt Redwoods State Park on Hwy 101 and heading towards Big Basin State Park, just North of Santa Cruz. We're planning to go across the Golden Gate Bridge and make a stop in Redwood City at HPH to see Brad and pick up some parts.

We'd like to take in a little bit of Napa along the way. Mostly just a drive through, with a stop at 1 or 2 wineries. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good route and perhaps some favorite wineries to visit.

V. Sattui, Dean and Daluca, Artessa ( on the Lap and 5 mins from home )...Some of my favorites.

Vincent Arroyo in Calistoga is right near the brewery Brad mentioned.
Also, "Downtown Joe's" in Napa has at least 8 excellant variety's brewed fresh on site at all times. Try the "Golden Thistle" or " Tail Waggin'" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

Joe's might be the "Spot" as there is free parking on a roof top garage within sight. NIce park right next door along the Napa river.

The menu is really great... I used to cook for them at least ten years ago.

Fri Nights the local Chef's Market is also the favorite thing to do.
