is there a down side to swapping out the points for the Pertronix ignitor electronic ignition?

I'm bumping this because I'm thinking about going with electronic ignition...probably pertronix.

I have always found they improve things, even more so if your dizzy is worn. The only downside to the pertroinix that i can think of is that it costs 2x as much as the hotspark which is basically the same thing.
I have had a crane optical pickup fail Never had a petronix fail in 12 years Have a hotspark waiting to be installed in one of my other cars, have not ran it yet. |
