..at the top of the transmission housing where it mates to the engine..
I think I dropped a tin screw in one of those holes (go figure.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) ) So now I'm assuming I need to check to make sure cuz I'm sure it'll be a bad day if it did go in there and I don't get it out... I've never separated a transmission from the engine in the 914. How big of a deal is it? Is anything gonna fly out if I just unbolt all the perimeter bolts around the edge? sigh... |

It's one of those jobs you spend more time and effort worrying about than it actually takes to do it.
Jack'er up and support the engine. Put a jack under the tranny and remove the bolts. Slide it back enough so the fastener drops out. Installation is the reverse of this procedure. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |
