Hello,

I have been slowly making progress fitting the final vacuum hoses on the engine but none of the diagrams I find match completely.

I don't have the anti-flashback valve. Is that normal for a '76? Do I just ignore that circuit?

Also, how are the hoses connected for the charcoal canister filter? I know one goes to the air cleaner. I'm not sure where on the fan shroud the other one goes to. Are there fittings to make the connection or should the hose just fit snugly on the nipple? The hoses I have seem to fit loosely or not at all.

I would appreciate a few pics of the hose connections and the routing so I can match it up with what I am seeing.

BTW the EGR and air injection is gone so that may affect picture selection.

Thanks in advance
Bob.

Jeff's diagram is not indicating the vacuum advance should be hook to the intake plenum but is indicating that the hose should be left disconnected but tucked under the plenum. The advance is not used on 75/76 but the advance canister needs to be open to the atmosphere and so a hose is added and tucked down under the intake. This keep moister out of the canister but allows the diaphragm to moved when the retard port get vacuum.

The large port on your oil filler should be connected to a port on the air filter housing the same size, should be on the driver side front corner area of the housing.

Without the vent ports on the heads you won't have an Anti Flashback Valve, just the 1 crankcase vent on the oil filler.
