Unless I've missed it somewhere, I am surprised that no one has installed a set of pantograph wipers on a 914. Given the exceptional craftsmanship that is frequently displayed on this forum in the way of restorations, re-creation and tribute cars, engine swaps and mods, and all manner of sheetmetal configurations, it amazes that a 914 somewhere hasn't had a set of these installed yet. Watching a 917 in the rain is mesmerizing not just for the skill required to manage the beast in the wet, but also for action of that large pantograph wiper sweeping across the windshield.

pantographs do a square pattern, for a narrow field of view, small windshields,
the 914 has a wider windshield and the center mount is more efficient. Of course you have to ditch everything under the cowl to do it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Attached image(s)
