Hello,

I have been slowly making progress fitting the final vacuum hoses on the engine but none of the diagrams I find match completely.

I don't have the anti-flashback valve. Is that normal for a '76? Do I just ignore that circuit?

Also, how are the hoses connected for the charcoal canister filter? I know one goes to the air cleaner. I'm not sure where on the fan shroud the other one goes to. Are there fittings to make the connection or should the hose just fit snugly on the nipple? The hoses I have seem to fit loosely or not at all.

I would appreciate a few pics of the hose connections and the routing so I can match it up with what I am seeing.

BTW the EGR and air injection is gone so that may affect picture selection.

Thanks in advance
Bob.

76 posted about the decel valve, i posted about the hoses.
Where do you have the vacuum advance hooked to?
There is no connection for it on a late model throttle body.
The connection on the rear of the tb is for retard.

It comes off the plenum as shown on Jeff Bowlsby's "late-1974 2.0 diagram Circled and arrowed in red. I have the retard hose connected as shown.

This is the closest diagram to what I see on my engine.

914Eric: Oh, I have searched! Those and many other pics. I just cant find one or several combined that show what I need to see.

I have also never been able to find a pic of the oil tower I have with the adapter for the vacuum hose. Someone said they shoved the hose in the hole but that can't be correct. Here's mine, if anyone can show me what it should look like with the hose attached I would greatly appreciate it.

I dont believe that is a 914 oil filler tower, which holds the PCV for the late 1.7L and all 2.0L. The 1.8L towers have a hose connection on the filler funnel itself. Maybe your tower is a transplant from a bus or VW T3 or? Someone more knowledgeable than me may recognize it.
