I spent quite some time browsing different posts of trailers used to transport 914s and finally decided to build my own. There only seemed to be a few single axle trailers with brakes shown on this board. I chose a single axle to keep the size down and make it easy to move by myself when it is not attached to the tow vehicle. I hope this thread serves as a means for others going through the same process a chance to see what others are doing without spending hours looking through posts with the word trailer. David Lee

Here's my trailer. Well, not really, it was a rental. I was planning to get a tow dolly, and tow my roller home backwards, after strapping down the rear hood and targa top securely... but when I got to the uhaul place they didn't have any tow dollies. Then I found out the best reason to not rent a tow dolly... a full dual axle trailer is less than $20 more! (this was for a two day one way rental) Why bother with the hassle of a tow dolly and not being able to back up? Fortunately my truck seems to have survived the overload.. well it made it home anyways (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
