I'm adding a Oil presure gage that reads up to 80 psi. I'm also replacing my old oil pressure relief spring and valve with kit to increase pressure because my current spring is very weak and origional springs are not available. What is to much pressure?

Pick your own number ... 40 - 80 psi. 10 psi per 1000 RPM is what Porsche says.
Excessive oil pressure will not blow seals ... over filling with oil and excessive blow-by will. Excessive oil pressure will pit the bearings (rods / mains). Also robs engine of horsepower as it take power to turn the pump. |
