Next step for me is setting up my valve train geometry. I searched the web and the World and now I have enough information to know that I need more information. I see a few references to an article Jake had on his now extinct forums. The Facebook page is pretty vast. Can someone point me to this article? I think that's my first step toward comming up with more intelegent questions.
FYI: I'm building a 2056 based on a late case. I have Jake's 9550 cam installed I have swivel feet adjusters mounted on 1.7 rockers with solid spacers I am using SS valves and chromoloy push rods I installed 8x10 rocker studs I have used .065" of shim on the cylinders with no head gasket Thanks! I used Jakes Valve train geometry article for the particular insights on the Type IV, read it carefully, follow the instructions don't take short cuts. The article is well written and easy to follow. I've built a variety of racing engines professionally for my living, some up to 4200 plus Horsepower. I have to comment that Jake (love him or leave him I don't care) was at one point willing to share information freely with those that sometimes think micrometers are high precision C clamps.
Have patience, building the engine is not the race. |
