In terms of cost, here’s a basic parts list from Renegade:

Nothing against the kit manufacturers but IMHO this is the route I would take.
Cheapest solution- purchase a completed LS conversion.

Put a kit together- some estimates.
Motor- As Bigkat said- cheaper new from GM. Or just buy one off CL, or purchase a wrecked Camaro. 3000-5000$ Make sure you get the TB and Computer, exhaust manifolds, air filter. The Intake & TB gets mounted backwards with the air filter vented into the trunk as example.
Adapter and clutch @ 1000$ from KEP
Engine bar- 200$ from the kit guys
Transaxle relocating offsets- 20$ worth of metal, drilled.
Lengthen Shifter- 5$ in parts, DIY weld.
Plastic Overflow tank - 10$ Ebay
Aluminum expansion tank - 40$ Jegs/Summit/Dedenbear.
Electric Water Pump- 250$/Dedenbear
Toy-Jet water manifold (replace the water pump)- 250$
Yellow stripe hoses- 80$ NAPA
Radiator- 180$ - Ebay
Fans- 60$ Ebay
Hose transitions - 30$ from Jags that run.
High torque starter- 200$ Ebay
GPS Speedo- 170$- Speedhut

Do your research, read as many threads as you can, go look at some completed cars. troll the classifieds for conversion parts. Save some money! Have fun.
