Happy 917 day, It brought victories home for Porsche from the Interseries, Europe, Can Am, North America, 24 hour victories , a Can Am tribute 914, and a gearhead movie by Steve McQueen...just to mention a few.
Kudos to the factory under Piech's watch for making this happen, and to todays custodians of these cars for bringing the 917s out to play. I know many of you have some pics...Please post 'em up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Marty |

IIRC, the actual chassis that won the 1970 edition of the 24 hours went to a collection in Japan. The "23" car in the museum is a different 917 which has been painted as the Le Mans winner.
