've got a set of dual webers IDF 40 carbs.
Anyone know how to properly set the float level height on these things. I've got a set of vernier calipers. I'm sure you probably carefully bend one or both of the metal tabs on each float assembly. What is the proper closed figure and the fully open figure. Thanx all L. |

If this helps any.......Also when you measure the closed position, make sure the valve is closed but don't compress the spring, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) So important. And there is some confusion about setting the float level with or without the gasket. I set mine without, then read it should have been with the gasket. It currently runs fine, and will do it right next time I pull the tops. Measure with the gasket. Set your float too high and the fuel will overflow into the carb throat. Set it too low and will lean out your WOT running. |
