I am at the point on restoration, where I want to install the "hood" on my car before the engine goes in, but have a question. I have 2 later lids that I was going to use for a GT lid, and noticed they have rubber buffers on the hinge, to keep it from banging I suppose. My early lid does not have holes in the hinge for these bumpers. Anyone know if the early lids are supposed to have a bumper?
Thanks, Bill

The lid on my six doesn't have the holes for the bumpers like the 4 cyl. cars, hence the question. The fact that the sixes have no rain tray would allow for the lighter bars I suppose. Amazing that the factory would change that many parts for so small a difference.
