where can you find the engine size for a 1973 914? I have the vin number, but all the sites want 17 digets

Carfaxes are only good down to 1981, so no 914s will come up.
1973 had a 1.7 or a 2.0. The ENGINE serial number will tell ya.....but an easy way is to look at the intake where it bolts to the head. Four bolts, one on each side and two in the middle is a 1.7. Three bolts....with only ONE in the middle is the 2.0.... 1.8s came in the 74-75 model years....but THAT DOES NOT mean that someone swapped a 1.8 in there. Take a pic and post it or read the serial number and post that.... |
