Hello world.
I recently restored a fuel tank and am in the process of assembling all the new seals and parts. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/s1.postimg.org-11125-1440215945.1.jpg) I have a new copper filter "sock" plus the paper seal that comes with it. I also have two copper seals for the large and small tubes. How are these supposed to go together? Are the copper seals for the tank side or the nut side? Is the paper seal just an alternative to the copper seal on the larger tube? Thanks for the help, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Matt |

WAIT !!! I don't know what I was thinking (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif)
I edited the previous post to correct my mistake. The copper washers need to seat up against the end of the threaded bungs, so they need to be installed on the nipples prior to inserting into the tank. The nut tightens up against the nipple flanges, but the washers actually do the sealing. Sorry, Matt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hide.gif) |
