1975 914 , badged 2.0 but has a 1.8ltr . anyway of confirming the chassis was a 1.8ltr originally and just rebadged from the vin?
vin data listed doesn't seem to differ between 1.8 and 2.0 , both grouped together on the production line |

Neither the VIN nor the chassis number will tell you the original engine size.
