My hell hole appears to be a double layer that is a partial sleeve off the inside of the longitudinal. My replacement part from RD appears to be a 16 gauge replacement. Can somebody send me a link to an "open heart surgery of that area...so I can decide how to repair mine please? My sides are ok, it is the top under the battery that has suffered. Looking for a very detailed thread to get some answers.

Thanks...

Lars,

Here's some pics from the work I did on my car. This is the outer right side open.

Then closed off inner

Then the outer

Here's some from the engine bay side. Open both outer and inner

Here final with the inner & outer closed off. I saved the inner quarter for last, but it wouldn't be necessary to do that.
