I took possession of this 76 in early September as a poorly repainted roller with three motors in various states of undress. The best of which looked to be halfway built, fresh on one side and left open on the other which had badly pitted the cam. As it turns out this is probably a good thing since it won't be a mystery as to what is in it when I get it all back together and can build it to suit. Here are some initial images of the car after I pulled everything out to have a look and take inventory of all the parts and or lack thereof. The planned next step is to strip it right down and media blast it to unearth the issues, order panels and start piecing it back together.
The goal is to revert back to the original light ivory. ![]() Fiberglass matt and I'm assuming POR-15 is covering some nasty stuff. ![]() ![]() 2.0 with jugs that were bored out to 4" ![]() ![]() ![]() Structure is overrated. I'm sure this is much lighter without all that fiber reinforced tape that was there ![]() ![]() |

I managed to get the remaining fiberglass off the passenger floor and have a pretty good idea of the situation. It looks like the newer rear pan was lapped over the hacked off front by about 4" and riveted into place. At this point it looks like there is no salvaging the front pans. No surprise that there was more angle iron, foil tape, duct tape and galvanized tin on the right side.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've been working on cleaning up the gauges some more. It is interesting to see how much the needles have faded the past 40 years. I'm going to brighten them up and replace the warning light foil while I have it all apart. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
