I used to sell universal joints to THOMAS before he defected back to Germany which he used to made side shift trans rear conversion rods. I wonder who has done this and is there a noticeable improvement in shift feel?
I see the $200 shift couplers Pelican sells for 911's that are made with a similar principle.

Anyone use one of the above couplers and have an opinion to offer?

QUOTE(brant @ Jan 31 2017, 10:27 AM) *

the link didn't work for me

but I use a pair of universal joints, 360degree couplers on my custom shift linkage
I've got a few more tricks incorporated into mine too:

dual rear bushings on the console
a custom cup bearing holder
a custom shifter
and a straight chromoly rod
brass bushings on the rear
and a special delrin firewall bushing

its the best shifting 914 I've ever driven in 30+years of them.
